This week our insurance broker has confirmed that our existing insurance provider, Zurich Australian Insurance Limited, will not be providing certain items of our existing member insurance policies, from policy renewal in late December 2023. Although the situation is not yet finalised from a club offering perspective, we bring this to your attention now so that members have time to make alternate arrangements with their own insurance providers, should they desire.
The information we have to date is that the following insurance will not be provided, however our broker is working to obtain coverage by another insurance provider:
- Motorised Golf Buggies – cover for the loss of, or damage to, a motorised golf cart
- Golf equipment – cover for the loss of, or damage to, personal golf equipment
- Personal Accident – coverage for an injury sustained as a result of an accident which occurs on golf club grounds
As noted, should our broker be able to obtain coverage for the points above we will provide you with an update.
Coverage for a Member causing injury to another person while playing golf, or damaging property while playing golf, will still be insured under the Golf Australia policy which is paid within our affiliation fees.
Some Members will already have coverage for golf equipment under their existing Home & Contents policy, however the coverage limit for contents away from home does vary between insurers so you may need to specify the replacement value to ensure full coverage.
Within your 2023/24 membership fees, (and buggy storage fees for those with a buggy shed) you paid a component of insurance for the period July 2023 to June 2024. Should any of these insurance products not be provided by the Club from late December 2023, a credit or refund will be calculated and provided, and members will be updated at that time.
Although the information above is far from complete, our brokers are working to obtain new coverage, but we wanted to advise you as soon as possible.
