It was a great end to the 2024 Club Championships with some terrific golf over the final 18 holes. The weather took a turn for the better this week and the course condition was as good as you could hope for. Ray Beaufils successfully defended the Club Championship, with a 3 shot win over Ryan Rodgers. It was a great final round with both players firing 3 under par rounds of 68. It was a tight, hard fought battle all the way to the end and a credit to all players in the final grouping.
Ash Heritage dominated A Reserve by 12 shots following an excellent 77 in the final round. Stephen Kamphuis came from behind in B Grade to win by a single shot over Duncan Fraser. Aron Birch held on to win C Grade by two shots.
Michael Johnson was crowned the Arthur Smith winner for the best overall Nett score and Sam Harrison fought hard to win the Joan Dickson Memorial on a countback from Alicia Todd.
Thanks to everyone who competed in this year’s Club Championships and best of luck to those players who have qualified for the Match Play Championship starting next Sunday, June 2nd. The Club will be reaching out to the top 8 qualifiers in each grade to confirm availability for Match Play early next week.
